Amur leopards are among the most critically endangered of all of the big cats in the wild and it is believed that less than 50 cats are left in their natural habitat (aprox. 300 in captivity). Whether the species will be able to survive in the wild is dubious. Loss of habitat and poaching are the leading reasons of their demise.
